Passion's Pretty Poison

Passion is one of our last dams out of Hemingway's Bogart. Soft white and full fleeced medium sized girl. Has that Bogie conformation, longevity of fineness and improved fleece. The density that Bogie puts on his offspring is certainly an added benefit. Dam Priscilla is out of Snowmass RRoyal Stars also renowned for his fiber density. We expected good things from the pairing of Bogart and Priscilla, and got it in Passion. We lost Dam Priscilla so Passion became even more important in our breeding program. Passion was bred to Snow Diamond Chateau Cerise and his first cria is on the ground. Chateau has all the phenotype attributes and EPDs for a working sire to produce quality offspring. Passion is packed with fine fiber. Her shear weight since age 3 was 6+ pounds for the past 3 years. Passion's AFD is 19 with an SD of 3.5 at age two. Her staple length is quite good, luster and brightness is beautiful. Nice Handle and best of all very rare guard hairs. Passion's SD is less than 4.0 and fibers greater than 30% is 0.7%, confirming what I observed, very few guard hairs and good uniformity. Passion's EPD values are wonderful. She is at 5% ranking in all the top 4 fineness fiber traits. She is well improved over the national norm for 7 of 8 trait values. She will improve her offspring in all these fiber traits making her a very valuable foundation dam, not just minor improvement but major improvements.
